Come-Up Meditation #3: The Easiest Come-Up Meditation
Of all the things you can do to improve your high, this simple hack has the best effort/reward ratio.
OK, maybe this technically isn’t a meditation per se 🤷♂️
But it is one of the simplest hacks to both increase the potency of your high and encourage the exploration of self.
It’s so simple, you don’t even need to listen to any audio. Here’s how to do it:
Before consuming cannabis, put away any distractions around you – phones, tablets, laptops, magazines, books, keytars, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle action figures, etc – to a place you can’t see them.
That’s it. This simple clearing away of diversions already creates palpably more mind space to experience and enjoy the high, as well as to explore your own high consciousness.
Just be sure to actually put the distractions out of sight, so you don’t reach for them absent-mindedly. This could mean placing them in a drawer or even just covering them with a piece of paper.
Very simple. If you want, there’s an optional second step to further amplify the effect: whenever you find yourself lost in thought, gently nudge your awareness back to the sensations of the high.
But in my experience, simply removing distractions is already astonishingly powerful 💪🏻
Regarding the timing, I use a dry herb vape, so getting high takes about ten minutes. Whatever form you’re consuming cannabis in (e.g. edibles, dabs), I’d recommend you commit to at least ten minutes of distraction-free time from the point you feel the effects.
When you’re done, you’re free to look at your phone, laptop, etc. again. But in my experience, doing so rapidly dulls the high. So you may well find that you prefer to go distraction-free for a while longer.
So that’s my simplest come-up tip: put away distractions and enjoy your high more.
